When I first put my 70 Challenger together with the 360, I used a Crane RV cam[ for torque] and had an RV converter in it too. It was a pooch and the mpg wasn't anything to write home about. Later on I put my six pack on it, put in the MP cam which was essentially the 68 MT 340 unit and a 2000ish stall converter. Way more fun to drive, not a slug anymore and my mpg didn't fall, actually improved a bit.
