On a 64 Dodge B body, A833 four speed. Which end do you take the inner speedo cable out to lubricate it? speedo end or trans. end? ............................MO

Mo,
There is a collar on the top end so pull it off the speedo and remove the cable from the housing. I like to fill the enlarged housing end with lube and "twirl" the cable back into the housing. It will carry the lube down the length of the housing. Try to stop adding lube within 6" of the end. You do not want lube in the speedo head.

Thanks Mike, I was dreading that would be the answer. I mucho dislike trying to get a speedo cable put back on , with it being inside the dash. I have had the instrument panel out several times--thought I had the speedo working smooth, but the needle still waves at me. IIRC the inner cable was lubed...............................MO
