1970 St Louis-built car. Block with forged crank and balancer per description/pics. Greater Chicago area. A broken mount ear I guess.

Little pricey with the broken ear... however if a member buys it, I have a bag of ears I cut off of broken blocks for just such an occasion. Around here, usually $100-150 for weld job

Everybody has to start with something but I don't know how much you would get out of that "short block". I'm hoping you would get a usable block, maybe a crank? Seems like a lot to me, especially with the broke ear. I've always thought the broke ear blocks need to be used in a bracket car with a motor plate.

A dear friend died 9 years ago and left a E440 at my shop. Out of a C body I think. Standard bore should clean up easy overbore. I thought when one of his other friends needed it I would give it to them on his behalf. It hasn't happened yet. I need to dispose of it someday before I croak too. I don't need it. Some guy came by one day and gave me a 75 truck 440 so if I ever want to build a 440 I've got one. I'm thinking when blocks get to $1,000 and someone comes by here with the cash I'll take it and give the money to his widow.

I looked at a '70 x 440 complete engine last week that was in better shape than that. Came with a 727 transmission for $1500 Cdn.
