Boy, does that need a good douching!

+1 RC, also I don't see any plug wires running at frt of heads.

well its a poly head 318 , thats good its an easy pump change , the 350,361,383,400,413,426,440 has a push rod that is hold in the block , between the cam lobe and the pump arm . thats a pain to keep up while installing the new pump . but you can cure all by putting an electric unit inline . happy motoring .

"Pomona" Just recently heard of using a hacksaw blade to hold pump rod out of the way when installing a new pump, works great, real thin& pretty stiff.

great idea , my 383's has great pumps on it . with no cam lube issues , but my 440's have had rod issues . seems the cam lube is not working the rods enough . would not pump enough volume or pressure . so electric to the rescue , lol . until i rip into them . all my racer stuff is electric . and i do like being able to do a road repair instead of towing them . but thats a great idea , and there is a hack saw in my repair on the road toolbox for special parts , lol . makes for easy work at the bone yards also , lol .

Everybody has a hacksaw, right?!

Now the question is why did it take me 67 yrs to find out about this trick?

Blasphemy! ( wow a word I haven't used/spelled in awhile, no spell-check either)although I did work at a GM dealer yrs ago!

well, its the same design , thats all . didn't mean to get any on you , lol . owned and worked on them all , but chased parts with my plymouth n dodge . so i kept the ones that were harder to break , lol . this motor has been in three different cars , it wreck'd them all , lol . hope is easier on orangy .

Pomona I've only got you by 7yrs.lol. Always loved that Calif weather the two times I was out there.

never did ohio , went out with a girl from here years ago . closest i got to the freezing temps , lol . no she was a great gal . took her out in my 37 dodge hot rod p/u i ran the streets with , thats another story . patty som.....thing , her family had a bodyshop there . what city i have no clue . that was in the late 70's early 80 . can't recall the booze was flowing then , lol .

Little bit of jealousy when in Illinois I see! Lol

does it count my mom's from battlecreek , but my grandparents moved though 48 states before settling in california . and moved a number of times once here . maybe we're related , lol . well we all belong to the mopar family right . lol .

That just says what motor the ca came with. Obviously someone swapped motors at some point.

that manifold only fits on the 318 poly, so that's what we have here.

Whether it was only used by the factory on the 318 poly is one thing, but it should fit the 277-301-303-313-318-326 Plymouth and Dodge Poly engines. If it isn't the original engine, who knows what's been swapped and switched.

But, any small block pump ought to work on it.

how.can you tell from the casting that it belongs to a 318.

I can see the two bolt valve covers...it is a 318 Poly. The exhaust side of the valve covers should have a saw tooth look as well.
