I have a leak coming from what appears to be the bolts to the rear main of my 383. I’ve read something ablout bolts bottoming out for the oil pan but this looks like it’s coming down from the bolt holes. I know nothing about this motor other than being told from the guy I purchased it from that he received it on a trade for body and paint work and he was told the motor was rebuilt not long before he got it and so was the tranny. Any ideas on how to stop this oil leak would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

The pan gasket doesn't always cover the retainer bolt hole recesses. I put RTV on top of the bolt heads before installing the pan gasket. You might be able to trim the gasket around the bolt recess with an exato knife. Then clean out above the bolt heads. Fill the recess with RTV.
