Oil pan for 63 b body?

Correct mounts and K and what ever is stock on the BB will fit.

This is what the "correct" one looks like. Couldn't tell you the part number. Some others do fit.

My understanding is that V8 k-frames are the same for sb & bb 63-65, just the mounts are different. I've read that a 187 or 699 pan will work but may need slight trimming to the k-frame. I'm about to go down this road too in the next few months. Here's a link with some info.

Here's another link to give you an idea of dimensional differences.

Me too. Got a 65... wondering what issues I will have with either K Frame, or steering center link Rub. I will be watching closely!

Check the FOR SALE forum. I just listed a pan that will work on a 63 with a big block, unless you are going for originality...

The original 62-65 B-B pan was notched on the pass. side for clearance It doesn't need much so you could tweak it with a BFH or spend the time cutting it and welding the corner up!

I use a 440Source deep sump pan on my '63. It only required cutting a small 1/2" x 1/2 rounded notch on the passenger front corner of the K frame.

I have what I believe is an 8 qt moroso pan on the motor now. Before I bolt my K frame in the car I should bring the motor out and do a fitment test , mount it to the frame to see if I have issues. It would save a whole lot of time instead if finding out the day you want to drop everything in. That would be a much bigger hassle!

Thunderlugs, If you have the 65 k member in stock shape! You'll have to notch the pan or K!

Thanks . The tricky part is to know exactly where. Any good pics out there to use as a guide would serve well to others as well as myself ??

I used the 440 Source (Part #121-1003) 7" deep 7 quart pan on my '64 Polara. It fit out of the box but was close to the "K" member on the passenger's side front. I trimmed just a little (about a 1/2") off the "K" member and now have a good 3/4" clearance. This is a good pan for anyone who wants or needs the extra capacity.

I used a 440 source pan on my 63 also the 7 quart deep

I have the same concern so I thought I'd post a few pics from my 64.
I bolted on a 187 pan I have (basically same as the 699 pan that I have also) to a 440 short block to test fit. These pans are chamfered which helps with clearance but it is tight although not touching. The K frame will need a little trimming for insurance.

These pans are from a C body BB I believe and are used for BB A bodies which need steering linkage clearance. 440Source sells a similar pan in a 6 quart that might work but they are expensive at $249. At least I know what I'm dealing with now.

Here's a few pics.
