Old car security

Small decal that said "please don't steal my car" is more than enough. Lol

I leave mine unattended often and for long periods, and to this day nothing has happened, 40 + years.

I have friends that won't go more than 10 feet from their car, won't drive in the rain, ect.
Sorry, that's no way to live for me, I've said it before and offended a bunch of people and I'll say it again, it's just a car!

There's the problem. How long before that becomes a PITA and the kill switch stops getting set? With my switch it is set as soon as you turn the key off, so choice not to set or forgetting to set is impossible.
Well, Mike, I guess it depends on how much you like your car. When it gets to be a PITA to reach down and flip a switch under the edge of your seat, maybe the driver should be sitting on a couch on the front porch...lol. Lots of good suggestions here, yours included, but I tend to recommend fixes that an average guy can do in his driveway.

NOPE, nobody here called for a tow but you gotta be doing something when you die!

Aside from my dog/s being hyper territorial
sounds off at the slightest noises

I always store my car in the garage
you can't lift the door by hand without unlocking the
opener track & door

& me being relatively well-armed/stocked
& the dogs presence

I DON'T HAVE THAT ONE

Gun 1911 Responce.jpg

security signs & LEOs all around me in my lil' 80 home neighborhood

but;
Having a 'lift off' 6bbl A12 hood it's tough to secure the front
while out

Between me disconnecting the battery in the trunk
or shut off
(another deterrent, is the battery isn't under the hood)
most wouldn't even know which switches to throw
to actually get it started, fans fuel water-pump etc.
to get very far even

when ever I run it
I run it out of fuel in the (6bbl) bowls too, so unless someone
knows how to start it & power it up fat chance they will drive off in it
while dodging dogs & lead flying

Regarding A12 hood security, I just replaced the pins with small padlocks, four different keys. Definitely needed to avoid a carb fire.
Edit. Come to think of it, I think I replaced the factory posts with an aftermarket set with a bigger pin hole.

Budnicks don't know what garage door opener you have. Think chain drive openers you get a crowbar and pry the open. When I went on vacation a C-clamp just above a track wheel will slow them down.

I got a thing for skanks stealing other’s property as it happened to me twice with stuff having NO price to replace them being heirlooms from my departed folks I had plans for passing down to my nephews who loved their grandparents dearly. The police did their ritual investigations and about equaled squat. Of course they got their other bigger fish to fry.

Accordingly, my mercy cup for people that steal **** is the size of a thimble. Ya don’t ******* touch other people’s property! How we were brought up. I knew well if I’d a tried it, I’d have zero worries about law enforcement, would a been my parents wrath. I keep my S&W close at night; just hope I’d be able to react soon enough to some fucks breaking in to make it their curtain call doing it.
