Our government is progressively making it harder to import cool old USA cars,
Exactly.

I had to deal with some officious prick for my A100 going back 12 years now. Flagged at the border for rust...which I was going to fix up anyway. But they never told me until I went for my Road Check to get licenced etc .....the very day I did that, it was flagged. Luckily I had a full CD of panelbeater photos and progress shots with the paint going on etc. I was given the green light, but what a nightmare at the eleventh hour. Next day my painter and I were hauling *** to the Beach Hop for four days of cruising and fun.

Hopefully you have warm temps when you are spraying. At least mid to high 60's with no moisture in the air. Otherwise it can blush or worse, blister due to moisture being trapped under the paint.

Air temp is 16c today, that's low 60s f.
I have been heating the car/room from early morning.

Thanks....and NO.

I have been 3 times, and each time it gets busier, and it was near impossible to get anywhere. Policing of the main street has gone, so I wasted my money on the Ultimate passes twice now. Half the people parked up didn't even have tickets last time.

Totally get ya there. We more go for the crew that we hang out with, spend more time on the bbq and drinking beer then the official events

Got the paint done.
Came out ok. I was a bit heavy on the top coat, so gotta deal with some runs. Little but of fluff here n there, so needs a rub back. It's a 2k single stage, so I can sand, cut n buff and be done with it. But I did a sample with a clear coat and it looks pretty good, so I may rub it back and chuck some clear at it

Rubbed back the 2k red,put 3 coats of clear on.
Very happy with the results.
Light rub n polish then reassemble.

As an amateur in the garage, I feel this is as good as could have hoped for

Reassembled the coronet
Quick wet sand and buff to get rid of the fluff, really needs a better sand n buff, will do before I put the stripe on in a few weeks.
Went to a show, the first time taking the Coronet to a show as a car legal for our roads.
Love driving this thing with the 4 speed big block

Put the Bee stripe on, just before leaving for a party out of town.
Came out ok, a couple of wrinkles I couldn't smooth out in one spot around a reflector, might have to re do that bit at some stage

Very sharp looking car. I like the look a lot better without the black top it originally had. When I redid my Bee, I had a terrible time deciding on R4 red or T5 copper. Ended up going copper, but that red is stunning as well. Nice work :drinks: .
