I've seen something online where a guy puts olive oil in a stainless bowl I think peanut butter in the middle the rats go in and can't get back out he set up a camera he cought 13 of them in one night !
He said he releases them but I'd say add a little flower and fry them up !

I use hedge apples quartered up and spread around the exterior walls of my shop. No mice
