Painting aluminum

I have a polished aluminum air cleaner. I would like to paint it. What should i do to maximize paint adhesion? probably will paint a chassis black ..............................MO

Sand it with 220 grit sand paper and prime it with marine zinc chromate primer. Then paint.

Google it. SEM has it in a spray can. You might have to order it online and waiit for the brown truck.

Swirl sand with 400 grit and spray with "etching" primer first. You can buy it most anywhere and it's acidity ensures bonding to aluminum or bare metal. Final paint with whatever you wish whatever way you prefer ( rattle can, gun, etc)
