Painting engine

[1967 satellite]

I am getting ready to paint my engine (still in the car) with the exhaust manifolds off. I had them ceracoated. Can I paint the area where the manifolds bolt too or should I tape them off. Studs are still there, don’t want to remove them for fear of breaking one off. Still have some prep work to remove some surface rust. Thanks in advance

Tape it off, use gasket as a template. Good choice no reason to remove studs, wire brush the threads, use anti sieze on them when installing.

Just tape up the gaskets and put them on.

Stuff paper towels in the holes and paint. Painted surfaces won't do any harm.
