Since this involves a '73 RR I thought this might go here fairly well. A week or so ago I advertised for a set of interior sail panels in the parts wanted area. Two folks on this board responded, Scotty2hotty and Addict4Christ. I responded back to both sellers and then.......nothing. Guys, if you changed your minds or sold them I would appreciate being told that. I get kinda peeved at being left hanging.
Moderators, if you see fit to move this to another forum then please do so.

happened to me too... but for the better... ended up paying half as much on ebay

the first guy you mentioned
cannot keep his word after he makes a deal!
he will still advertise the part and fish around for better offers
if he gets one your chit out of luck! :jerk:

Reminds me of a guy at work. He has a BIG mopar stash, and always talks about what he has, and how broke he is. But wont sell ANYTHING! He has a 74 RR parts car that will help me, sitting in a field. He always talks about it, and wont sell me the car, or a part off it! Gotta be a mental illness.

i should of known something was up when
i saw the part still listed on ebay by him days after i sent the loot out to him.
a few weeks go by nothing
i send a message and i'm told he sold it
to someone else and my money didn't show??
wtf?
without ONE SINGLE message to me about my money not showing up?
then when i say i'm not believing him
he wants an apology from me for getting upset!!!!
he even admitted we had a deal!!!
what else would i start to think when
you are not a man of your word??????

so now my money is gone and i have no part

the jury is out if he is a thief
the money order company now is the judge
is this a flake that you would want to do buisness with?
this guy is a turd...
 
Flypaper, was that money order from the US Post Office? See if it can be traced to find out if it has been cashed or not. If it is a Postal Money Order whoever cashed it could be on the hook for a Federal Charge. If that don't scare them out of 5 years growth, nothing will.
Scotts74......where in the Thumb? I have shirt-tail kin scattered all over the thumb.

it was a western union money order and the
trace/track is already in.
to get the time to be able to get over to the post office when it is open
is a real pita for me.

so to make a few extra dollars he screws me over...
i had my eye on a few other things he has and
now i will spread the word that his word is nfg!

i hope his few dollars was worth it.....

he wanted an apology from me...

If this was an EBay transaction then you need to file a complaint with them. I have been told that they take a dim view of folks that pull that stuff. Damn glad that he never answered my inquiry now.

Im sorry to hear of the problems, ive bought and sold from a bunch here, never had any problems myself, Neither of these members though.. I know a couple like Scott there that has the stuff, but its there gold mine and knowing you need or want it they get there jolly's not selling.. Any ole way, i found these on EBAY, My car is a clone and the interior patterns about all i have left to do, this link will take you to the sail panels your looking for, i hope, there $29.75.. Ron aren't those the 71-72 only sail panels? I thought 73-74 were plastic like the charger?

To be perfectly honest, i to thought they were plastic, i copied and pasted what it says on the bottom of the page, its all in caps the way they have it, lol, im not yelling...

How many post did he have on here ? I buy stuff all the time too. I wonder If it was someone that just showed up to sell one thing, hit and run ?
 
Ron73-I looked at that EBay store and the pictured sails look to be for a 71-2 car. The window opening is slanted too much and the extension is too short to work on a '73-4 car. I'm going to Google his store and see if it shows up as a web site. I don't care if they are hard plastic or covered board. This car is going to be a driver and it will be driven, with gusto, until my kids are shoveling dirt in my face.

WVMarv-Thanks. They are just what the Doctor ordered. Been having a bit of trouble with the bag, I had not been on there in a very long time and I'm guessing my regestration/ID has timed out? Trying to re-regester has been, in a nutshell, frustrating.

Quick update......Looked for that store on the net, all I found for web site was two addresses that were invalid. There was a link to a My Space deal but I have never delt with My Space so I shyed away from it. I tend to FUBAR those deals, High tech I am not.

I'd steer clear from that...one big red-flag is seeing people advertise that their part fits 71-74, when it clearly doesn't. that tells me right away that they don't even know what the part is, let alone if it's right for you.

And if your links come up dead, likely the seller is too. They either scammed enough people and moved on, or were run off by an angry mob...I mean, MySpace? That's like looking at an add that was hosted by Angelfire. LOL

he had a few posts here and he sells on ebay.
what he did was still fish the part out on ebay
after he made a deal with me
then,when he got a better offer he simply threw
my m.o. in the trash and told me it was lost
nothing i can prove but he is a thief no matter what he says!
because i'm out the 15 bucks to get a refund.
so he stole at least 15 and maybe more depending if
i get something back.

i would advise anyone not to deal
with a thief such as him.
i will always consider him a thief unless
he wants to man up and pay me back for his bullshit.

the "it got lost in the mail bullshit"
is no excuse for what he did!

its tuff dealing with parts and money on here,,,i have not done it and wont...i trust NOBODY. at least on ebay you have a chance to redeem. face it guys,,,we dont REALLY know eachother here, all we are is a pic of our mug and a bunch of sentences. unless you know the person your dealing with personally, youre taking one hell of a chance of getting ripped off. its nice to be able to trust someone you "THINK" is trustworthy....but are they really???? we should be able to trust eachother...after all we are in a brotherhood...but all it takes is one asshole to screw things up and now we are all on guard and apprehensive to deal . i would apply Murphys law to this subject...." if it can go wrong,,,it will go wrong!!!....can i get a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOA BUNDYYYYYYYYYYY ?
 
I've had transactions on the A, B, and E site with people and all of them were good. Maybe it's just luck, and maybe not. I try to do my homework.

I think one of the things that I look at is their post count and when they joined.
If they just joined within six months and there post count is under fifty or so, probably not.
But if they been around a while (a year maybe), and they have a post count of about 200-300, I'll give him a try. And I'll look at some of his older posts to see if people are happy with the seller.

Just saying, there are still some good people out there.
