Pet Peeve.......

Reading the last post it occurred to me that I should say a few words about some of the people I've dealt with for parts:
Joe Suchy (joesuchy64@gmail.com) - Good as gold and less expensive than most.
The Bolt Depot (boltdepot.com) - great prices on bolt and nuts of all kinds
Brewers Performance (brewersperformance.com) - manual transmission geniuses
Seatbeltsplus.com - good quality, good prices
Len Dawson (dpmotorparts.com) 1940-1983 NOS parts (34,000 part numbers!)
Del City (delcity.net) - great source of wiring, terminals, switches, etc. Can buy 1 or ?
Summit Racing - The best in service, fast shipping and decent prices.
Speedy Metals (speedymetals.com) - Any type or shape of metal you could ever want
Mancini Racing (manciniracing.com) - Tons of Mopar stuff with decent prices.
There are many more who appreciate and deserve our business.

I've had transactions on the A, B, and E site with people and all of them were good. Maybe it's just luck, and maybe not. I try to do my homework.

I think one of the things that I look at is their post count and when they joined.
If they just joined within six months and there post count is under fifty or so, probably not.
But if they been around a while (a year maybe), and they have a post count of about 200-300, I'll give him a try. And I'll look at some of his older posts to see if people are happy with the seller.

Just saying, there are still some good people out there.

Ive never dealed with anyone on a or e body, only hear is all and to this point ive had no problems that amount to anything, one part lost but it did come after a couple months There are still some good people out there, on a bodies theres a member by the name of John, ive talked with him personally and he told me not to do something, it wouldn't be worth it to me and he was the one selling it, to me, thats about as honest as you can get. I try myself to be as honest as possible, i haven't had a problem as yet, but at the same time i do have to agree with tpodwdog to a point, we don't know each other personally, and Murphy law can come into affect sometimes uninvited and not of purpose, Its best to be cautious, do our homework as you say you do, Ive had more problems with personally knowing and selling things then here,

I myself never thought or do think of post counts though, I just never pay attention to them and sometimes wonder why some or most do, I thought things said such as "don't mind me, im just trying to get my post count up!" was a joke, lol, now im starting to believe folks really do watch them, This site alone is larger then i think many understand, i myself sometimes spend hours just reading and looking in the resto/project threads, thats only one small part of this place, if i commented on every one i read, 20 posts a day wouldn't cover it. So i guess im learning a new thing here and probably will be more apt to pay attention to them, i just don't really know why! lol. I guess the ones who sell only in a site, paying attention to how long they have been around is a good thing, i don't know of any, but i guess one could come along, sign up, sell and never come back again and someone could have a problem and they be long gone.. I guess we all take a chance selling or buying.. JMO..

I've had good luck so far selling on here. Granted I respond quickly and don't screw people. I have yet to successfully buy something! Though I have tried...some tend to not respond and others yet don't follow up.

I don't think Post Count is a good barometer. I have been on MOPARTS for between 12 and 14 years and have less than 500 Posts, I think. I tend to be more of a "Lurker" since I can usually get any question answered by just reading simular posts to what my problem might be. I have bought parts from venders on this board, The A bodies only board, Early A's only, MOPARTS, and years ago EBay. Only had two issues, one was resolved by the Police in that State. The other was a part that arrived broken and FedEX would not honor its damaged shipment policy, claiming the package was not properly wrapped/protected. I watched thier agent toss packages from one end of the delivery van to the other but they denied that would ever happen. So, I don't use FedEX any more.
On the upolstered sail panels......just about everybody offers them for 71-4 cars even though the illistration clearly shows a 71-2 part......including Legendary and Year One.

Well I reckon the buyer takes the main risk....I personaly am a Newbie and on the better side of the World.... I have thrown several hundred Yankee dollars at various People on this site in the last mth alone.....I don't know anyone from a bar of soap Here..but I have said and will say again...Thanks Fella's You know who You are, without You help My car would just sit in the shed..

My glass is half Full....how bout Yours?
Trust has to start somewhere..My 2bobs worth, Steve

RGP266, If you still have the money order receipt, you know the bottom half you tore off before mailing. There are directions for tracing and getting a refund of the money on the back. Every time I buy a part and send out a money order I wonder if I am going to get my parts. But as said you just keep your fingers crossed and hope they give you a tracking number or it shows up on your doorstep. Here's a AG Air Cleaner I just picked up on CL for $267 shipped. How did I do. needs a little paint work but looks very good. 001.jpg

Marv.....I did not buy from either of them and am glad I did not.
Digging that single 4-bbl air filter set up. Looks just like the one on my '69 RR back when I bought it new in November of 1968.

Just thought I'd threw in a word from the other side. I'm not a career seller but I have bought and sold on this and other forums and had better luck than with the non car people on ebay. When I sell to somebody I give them my ebay account name so they can see the feedback on my account and only do paypal. I also check out the posts that they have made to see how they treat people. Its always a gamble dealing with people but true carguys usually come through. I'll buy from the pro parts guys but I go in expecting to buy a part, not make a friend. Be cautious but I don't think we need to hunker down in the emergency shelter, eating MRE's. cradling our automatic weapons because all of mankind has gone to hell, just yet. Actually for me, getting away from the Chevy crowd and getting around Mopar guys has made my outlook on people vastly improved.

can i get a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOA BUNDYYYYYYYYYYY ?
Yeah I agree w/tpodwog & alleyoopmgv- there are some great members here but I wouldnt trust someone with very low posts or with large $ orders unless your meeting him/her in person.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOA BUNDYYYYYYYYYY

Mind Changers

What really p>>>>>>>>s me off is when someone is looking for several parts & you ask if they have found them ,they say no. So then you find those parts, carefully dissasemble them, clean them up, take pictures, send the pics out with a price + shipping. They respond with "Looks Good, How much is the total". :icon_thumright:

Then you carefully package the dash panels, so they survive the ride, go to the post office and price the ride, return home & email Scott the total & get NO REPLY WHAT SO EVER!!!!!! :angryfire:

Then a week passes & you`ve sent several emails ,again with no response. Then 10 days later you see his add again only to see the dash panels have been " found "!! The worst thing here is ,i sold this guy a lock rod, console brackets& some headliner clips only a month ago, to help him out !!

So here i am now with the dash panels nicely package for a trip & no place to go. It`s no fun at all dealing with jokers like this!!!! :angry9:

Probably one of the reasons some people become hoarders. :headbang:
