Picked this up today

Nice score. Wow, it looks very similar to one my buddy just picked up a few weeks ago. His appears orange, but it is a real faded red.
Yours looks even more similar to my red 70 Challenger.

Get ready after ordering from them for at least 8 plus months before they ship it to ya. Lately, it seems to be their modus operandi...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:
Oh, I know. Order, pay and wait. It's ok, I'll order everything as I start on it and it'll arrive when paint is dry. Lol

Your buddy's car is a lot nicer than mine. What engine did it come with factory?
Your car is fantastic. I had an rt se U code fc7 white vinyl, black leather interior auto, ac I sold years and years ago.

Order at Carlisle. 10% off, no tax, and free shipping. Even if they don't do the 10% this year the tax and shipping savings are worth it.

I got my Road Runner covers in about 3 months this past summer so they are getting caught up.

Nice find! As optioned up as it is I'm surprised they didn't get an R/T SE... Though to be honest the SE's small back window sucks....

How much of the cruise control remains? T/S lever? Servo bracket? Harness?

Nuttin unfortunately, hole is there where it went through the firewall, 3 holes for the mount still in the inner fender. They even took the brake light switch.

I agree. I don't like the S.E. window either. However, it came as part of the package with the car. The car was too good of a deal to say no to just because of the rear window. I definitely like the looks of the standard larger rear window in my blue car better.

The servo & brake switch are possible but not easy... The bracket, T/S lever-switch & harness a tough...

The switch I've faked a few times by welding two C body levers together... The E body lever is longer due to the coffee can section of the steering column...

Last time I saw a real correct lever for sale was probably twenty years ago & it was marked $250... My R/T SE had on original lever, it wasn't chrome like a regular T/S lever, it was painted silver.... Which means when you weld two together you can use body filler to smooth it out then prime & paint it silver...

The 71-72 B body servo bracket is close but the three bolt holes are reversed...

I had 2 of them, way back when. I loved them. The burnt orange one was a Slant 6 auto, The lime one was a 383 RT 4 speed!
I got pulled over several times in the RT by the state police. One asked how I liked it as his son wanted to buy one. The other was just a mere compliment on the car.
Still scares you when those flashing lights come on behind you!
Best of luck with your new toy!

Legendary to the rescue.
C'mon man....you had this thing a day already.....what are the dyno numbers?

...congrats on the score....should be a fun project - good luck.

I do everything myself, I'm good. It's from Louisiana, and most of the rust isn't too bad, just floors and rear frame rails. Quarters are mostly solid but it's getting new ones so I can fix any hidden rust and I hate patched 1/4s
Great car with great options. I had a '71 Red with a white top for about 2 years after I graduated. Was that car anywhere near Katrina? That would be my only worry. Congrats though as that will be a great car once finished.
