I just ran across this picture. It brings back memories of when I was working at my Dad's Sunoco station from when I was about 12 (1966). Right at the beginning of the muscle car era. Selling the highest octane gas meant I saw more than my share.

Just stumbled on this Pic from @CR-MOPAR , back in 97 at the Southey mopar meet.. That's My red/ white 67 Charger with my cousins 81 imperial and my Dad's 68 300 beside. At that time I had a nitrous 440 in the car, with 2.76 gears for the long haul. My cousin had a built up 360 with the 2.24 gears in it. Needless to say , coming into town for the show, we were in quite a rush side by side to get there. My speedo was whacked out from the gears, and his stopped at 99MPH. All I can say is I'm sure we were far beyond the suggested top speed of the tires lol
