I have a neighbor "who really hates the racket" my 440 makes.

Time to really piss them off.

Any opinions who makes the best electric cutouts.

Cost doesn't matter, it's hidden retirement money. I want the best.

Thanks in advance
Jack

I can't help ya on the cut out question, but...... I get a kick out of you guys that live in the " burbs" !!!!!!

must be why I live in the sticks!!!!! LOL

Just a different view... The best neighbor is the one you never see or hear. I can't imagine most families want to listen to it either. I've had some great neighbors and some that I couldn't stand the site of. You can wish all day that they will move but the next family that moves in might feel the same way. Though we have a right to enjoy our hobbies, you still need to be mindful of those that have to deal with it.

All electric cut-outs suck. I try to be as quiet as possible with my toys around my home. I don't **** where I eat.

Ask your neighbor if he works nights and sleeps days
or if he has a baby that needs quiet
If not carry on but do not aggravate the situation with cut outs

I didn't ask for Dear Abby opinions. I asked about cut outs

He's retired and I baby the car out of the subdivision. I lived here for 45 years and I'm done with his ****.

I don't need lectures but thanks anyway

Don't do it! It only makes it worse . As long as your car has mufflers leave it at that . I've had a guy call the cops on me cop came checked for exhaust I had it ,the guy got a false complaint warning he eventually got a ticket . Make all the noise you must with it being legal but the min you put dumps and they see it you'll get a ticket .

Oh yeah don't poop where you eat that causes other problems if they can't get you for something they will call on something else .
Living in the woods is much nicer

He doesn't want lectures. He's on a mission.

However, if you want to know about cut-outs....ask about them. Few people care about your drama.

i was looking at cutouts the other nite on ebay.
they seemed to be okay, altho the pipe itself is alum on the cheapo versions.

as far as neighbors go,i know what you mean.
literally, last week 2 of our shitty neighbors moved out,
they lived right next door and across the street.
both went to diff states, and the whole street is happy now.
they used to call the cops on us for loud noises cars, bikes, motorcycles,
Meanwhile their children were riding pedal bikes over on the main drag and almost getting hit daily.
throwing rocks at cars, stealing stuff from others yards, etc etc.
they also tried to " party " with my then underage son, offering him booze and other stuff.
i sent the staties over to have a word with them about that incident.
" quality " people....
ha,speaking of,the ones across the street left a debris pile 10 feet high and around 15 foot wide.
i helped the owner/neighbor clean most of it up.

Still tho,you should deffo always remember to never **** where you live,
because as you can see,it might be you moving somewheres else and then everyone will be glad to see you gone.
just a thought or two,no offense intended.

We have used Raceland and DMH. Both good kits.

QTP on a daily driven vehicle for 2 yrs, no issues.

Dennis H has had good luck with his QTP also. I would go that route or Doug's. THe QTP use a butterfly to close where the Doug's use a guillotine. Doug's claim the Guillotine will stand up better to the test of time because it will cut through build up instead of a butterfly getting stuck.

Whatever you buy just keep them lubed and clean

I had quick time performance on 2 cars...good quality and worked well. I had one side fail and wouldn't close...after 1.5yrs. they replaced it at no charge, and they are located in my state about 45min away. The beauty of the electric cut out is when the cop comes to check it out, it's closed...

I'm considering doing it too...

From what I have seen & heard;

I like the Stainless Steel Y-pipe material myself,
the aluminized steel or raw steel is fine I guess too

If $$$ isn't an issue Dougs Stainless Steel 3" Electric Cutout full kit are the most $475+,
BUT they are probably the biggest/largest diameter in design too
could be a clearance issue depending on where in the pipe you put them or
If you put them right off the headers

Pypes look good too

Quicktime look good too,
they also have oval pipe style for clearance issues

Alstar Performance

Mr. Gasket

Magna Flow

Patriot

Hedman

Summit or Jegs brands

there's more too

you could do a combo of brands or a complete kit,
get the best of all components
I want them farther down the pipe not right off the headers,
my criteria may be different than yours, I always like a extension off my headers,
not a direct opening after them, for better torque etc.

good luck keep us posted what you do

If you're not pissing off the neighbors, you're doing it wrong!

Q T P's. Reliable for 10 years. They run about 4 seconds to full open. You can make a little, lot, or bust windows. Most fun is setting off every car alarm in the deck. I keep them buttoned in the neighborhood. They live a hard life and have been slammed and scraped. Never an issue with the butterflies. I will check them now and clean and lube as that has not been done. Ever.
