Please help with the year of my two 440's

I please need help on the year and if these are truck motors or ??

First motor numbers stamped on pad read
t440 e
9 20 x



second motor numbers stamped on pad read
4t 440 e
12 6

i really apreciate any and all help
these numbers are stamed on the flat spot just right of distributer in front of intake
 
You first have to determine the CASTING date of the block which is located on the side of the block. It will be obvious such as 1-15-70 as in Jan. 1, 1970 Then the top pad numbers will make sense. The T can mean eith the model number year OR truck depending on the year of the block.

1969 model year was E 1970 model year was F on the top pad and it went up from there alfabetically but some letters were skipped because they could be mistaken for numbers.
 
Yes, the casting date will narrow it down but the stamp pad info you put up indicates late model engines. I'd say mid to late 70's. The 4T could mean 1974 and if the block is cast in 73 then that's it.

thank you all for helping i get more confused each time i think i have it right, the first motor now i think is a 78 cast crank sold to me as a 1969 :(
second motor i think is a 73 cast crank also
probley truck or camper motors ?????????

Ah, an 8-11-78 casting date! Proof that there were 1979 vehicles that came out with a big block! I've heard so many say that didn't happen when I've seen a few back in the day...one being a Magnum.
