Nobody pays rent to "live in someone's head" so this statement is stupid and flawed in many ways.

Agreed. Repo is short for repossessed.

I think it has something to do with them being "popped out" on an assembly line or something.

I'm not sure how 'repop' became popular other than human's basic laziness when it comes to language. Around here, when a forest is cut, then replanted, the resulting new forest is referred to as 'reprod', for reproduction forest. What's wrong with reprod for reproduction parts?

“Embracing synergies”

The corporate emails we get are so riddled with this kind of jargon it’s hard to know what they’re saying…a lot of times it’s just a way to sugarcoat layoffs and budget cuts.

I have never been in that corporate type of environment but I have heard many of the terms they use.
To me, so much of that **** is just replacement words to soften the blow of bad news.
Screw all that. I hate the "African American" name since not one black person I've ever met set one foot in Uganda or Nigeria.
I don't like "Handi-capable" for those that are paralyzed but still sharp of mind, Little people instead of midget, attrition or RIF to describe mass layoffs, etc.

I agree with that sentiment about soft language. Disabled people are crippled by definition. Developmentally disabled people are retarded by definition. Don’t hide from reality.

Our current cost cutting layoff program is called ‘competitive edge’ - it’s not like we aren’t profitable. The senior executives are planning these layoffs right around the holidays too…pretty sure they’ll have some decent bonuses for ‘streamlining processes’ and ‘maximizing downstream value chains’.
