Ordered a full floor pan from Tamraz (AMD brand). I would appreciate any advice or pointers in installing the new floor pan. A body shop will help me, but I never turn down helpful hints or personal experiences. The car is completely disassembled, nothing but a shell at this point, so nothing will get in the way.

Here is a link to about the middle of my floor pan install, which should be close to the way yours is. I did add some frame connectors and roll bar plates under the floor also tho. A lot of the guys here have done floors pans and will chime in to help you fur-shur! and most of us do the floors about the same. It's really not that hard once you see how it's done.

Set the car on 6 jack stands with 2 under the front door pillars. Using a carpenters level place the level in the door way on the rocker panels and level the car front o back. Repeat on Passenger side.

Then level the car left to right. You may need body skims to perform this. Once this is done and the car is square tack weld the jacks to the frame. Now begin the process of drilling all the spot welds from the old floor. Once this is done next step is inspecting the interior of the Taorsion bar mount and the interior of rockers for Rust. Paint interior of frame pieces with Rustoleum Blck enamel, bridge paint or master coat. Bridge paint is 1/2 the price of por 15 and works really well.

If all is good then grind all left over spot weld point inside of car. You will need self tapping screws and and a few driver bits. Lay the floor in the car and starting from the front using 6-10 pairs of vice grips squzze the front fire wall pinch weld to the front edge of the new pan. Slowly beging to work the pan in place front to back. Lay a few weifghts on the floor to hold the pan in place. Once this is done you will need to screw the pan down from the front to the back with maybe 40 screws. Take your time, recheck the level on the rockers and also across the front of car.

Check the doors for sag. If all is good slide under car with Silver aluminum spray paint and mark the floor whre it touches frame rails. Unscrew the floor and then remove vise grips from front fire wall and carry the floor pan out of car. With some ones help. Dont let the pan kink or bend trying to take it out by yourself.

Turn it over and look at the traces from the silver spray paint. Drill the floor wheere the frame and body lines are to be spot welded with a 5/16 drill. these holes will be wear you will weld . Grind the electroplate off the spot weld areas only. then spray with Aluminum spray paint. Dont waste your money on weld thru primers they are crap. reinstall floor again clamp the front in. And reinstall the screws . One by one weld and remove screws.

What he said. I'm going to copy and save that in a special file!
Good work snake, perfect instructions for the job.:headbang:

Snakeoil 24, I appreciate the step by step process, I will print it out so I will have it handy!

Doggone it Snakeoil, now I got to take mine back out to put it in correctly. LOL. That was about the best explanation I have heard for doing the floors. Don't hesitate to ask the body shop about this either if that's the way they do it. With Snakoil's version and the bodyshop's, your installation should be quick and enjoyable.

I have already talked to them and what they have planned is exactly what snakeoil24 suggested!! Can't wait to see that new floor pan installed and then to hook it up to the rotisserie.

The rotis makes it so easy..You should be able to balance the car in it where you can spin it easy. Mine spins 360 with 1 finger.
