My friend Steve Adams, sent a check for $700 in Feb 2012, for a pair of doors for a 64 Fury. Larry @ Sled City has had nothing but excuses for the better part of a year, but no doors or refund of money. He had stoped answering e-mails, and the phone and now the number Steve has is no good.
I contacted Sled City on Jan 13th 2013, on Steves behalf. This is the answer I recieved.
Quote:

Doors were ready as of last Thursday and are ready for my inspection.
This has been a really terrible year with my crew and their illnesses
and departures due to illness. I will be veiwing these doors tomorrow
and hope to ship this week. Steve has been really understanding and I
appriciate that. Larry.

We have heard nothing since. The last e-mail I sent, on 1-17-2013, I told larry, if we did not hear back from him by 1-21-2013, stating the doors have shipped, or a refund issued, I would post this info on mopar sites. I have heard nothing.
So be carefull of doing business with Sled City, in Grove City, Ohio.

You can put it up on the websites. But you also need to send a legal notice and/or contact the prosecuting attorney in that city and file a claim.

He posts on moparts also might try to get ahold of him there.

Actually you need to send the vendor a certified letter with a copy to consumer affairs in the state you transacted business in. Giving the vendor notice, with adequate time to resolve dispute. Notifying the vendor you wish to post to websites of a "dispute". Be careful here.

This is Sled City ! I really do not know who Charlie S. is but he is not my client. The doors he is refering to were shipped and I even paid the $213 for the shipping. 2013 was a terible year for my crew with health and retirement issues. We spent the better part of last month regrouping and are now getting caught up. We have new Hemi scoops coming out and also thinking of doing some 65 Dart parts. Some companies that have rough times just shut down, Mich., Texas, Florida. I chose to hang tough and give my clients what they paid for. Some of them are late and most understand what I am doing. Thanks for reading this and you will see a stronger Sled City than ever before. P.S. Sled City is putting on the 3rd Annual Spring Nostalgia Nationals at National Trail Raceway on June 22&23, 2013

Wow....... Finally shipped or not, A year to get a pair of doors out? If all that is true, nobody should have to wait a year for parts.

I guess we will have to wait and see if Charlie's friend gets his doors or not.

When you have a shop with 3 employees and your hood scoop guru has a heart attack and then retires, what do ya do? You still have the other 2 employees and they move about 4 hours away so they could be with their dying mother. Sorry to say , their mother died and they stayed in their home town. With no one in Columbus area to hire, you go out of town, and we have. Our new facility is up and running and making parts. I believe that I am the only fiberglass company that just supplies parts to the mopar cars. No Ford parts or Cheevy parts. I could be wrong, but I believe the others have shut down for some of the same reasons. Who is this Charlie S. guy who is complaining. He is not my client.

You don't seem to get it--Charlie S does not claim to be your client--he states he is helping a friend in obtaining paid for parts. I would do he same for any collector friend myself. Your trying to make an issue about Charlie S is merely an attempt to deflect the fact that it has taken almost one year to do what you agreed to do. I am sorry for your business problems, but they are absolutely NO excuse for a nearly one year delay in receiving what someone has paid for. Get real!

Steve is the customer, he never asked for any money back and chose to wait it out. He knew that I had employee problems this year . Enter Charlie S who wanted to get involved as a third party. I really wasn't made aware from Steve that Charlie S was taking over all of Steve's business matters with me. The doors were shipped and as I stated to Steve, because they were late, I would pay for the shipping. How "REAL" can a guy get. Just being honest with you guys that want to know whats happening.

Crap happens sometimes guys. At least he is in here to offer an explanation instead of just pocketing the money and running. Unless you own a performance parts business in this current economy abnd are struggline to get by then you just dont understand what can happen to small companies. If he gets his doors then we know glassman is being on the up and up and he ate the shipping on it which is a big break for Steve. That's being as stand up as you can. Pugly you and sportfury should back off and give the guy a break/chance to prove himself. **** does happen in this industry and sometime things are beyond someones control. Unless you are perfect and never late and never make a mistake you have said enough.

I noticed this Charlie S is posting this on a lot of forums. Seems to me that glassman is trying to do his best with all that is on his plate.I know of a lot of automotive businesses that are shutting their doors. Why isn't Steve in here complaining instead of charlie? Hmmm..all I know is I was taught to handle my own business and not have my buddies man up for me! just my two cents!

I asked to have this thread unlocked.
First, I need to state that Lary at Sled City has made this "right". Steve recieved his doors. It was important to post this, since I had posted a negative, and it wasn't right to leave it that way. The major problem was a lack of comunication.
As for my doing the posting, Steve is a good friend of mine, and his son drives one of my race cars. He is not computer literate. He does do E-mail, but that is about it. He does not belong to any forums. He asked me if I could help him, as he is aware of my being on a few Mopar forums. So, I think we can put this to bed.

To bad you didn't post that in the beginning and avoided any confusion but that said, none of my friends have ever asked me to go post about their problems. They take care of it themselves or at most, ask for advice on what to do but never to go spread bad news about someone throughout the internet....

Thanks Charlie. Since I have dealt with you in person and seen you race I know what a stand up guy you are. I appreciate you letting us know. Vendors should be held to the same expectations as the rest of us. Sounds like Sled City ended up doing the right thing and that's good. Thanks for keepin us informed.

Oh and when are you comin to Reynolds for the slant six race again? Would love to see you again.

I would love to have another slant six race at Reynolds (Silver Dollar), and they would be glad to have us. Just can't seem to get emough cars/drivers interested. But that is for another thread.

Now that we have the door situation cleared up , we can turn this into a slant 6 thread. I am putting on the 3rd Annual Spring Nostalgia Nationals and would very much like to have all the slants there. What do ya think? Charlie S.?

resolved in 6 days, better than another useless Lawsuit

:iamwithstupid: Just Second party squables...LOL... I looks like the problem was resolved now, it may have taken way too long, but Glassman/Sled City sounds like he/they made it good... It's the businesses responsibility to inform customers of these type of issues, especially a long delay, it's only common courtesy & respect for the customers, but also sometimes sh-t happens, especially in this current economy & people need to work stuff out, when ever possible... I'm glad Charlie S.'s friend, "Steve" finally got his doors, allegedly after almost a year, with allegedly little to no supposed contacts from Sled City... It's all second party/hand information here... IMHFO Glassman/Sled City has made it good somewhat !!, by coving $200 in shipping, that doesn't excuse the problems either, but it helps some financially to the original purchaser "Steve" & there is always 2 sides to every story, if "Steve" was so upset, he should have learned how to use a computer &/or contacted Glassman/Sled City himself, or Charlie S. maybe should have shown him how & post HIS OWN complaints, instead of alleged second hand information, possibly ruining someones reputation &/or business... Good luck to Both parties, I hope all is well, I wish Glassman & Sled City all the best of luck & fortune, in the future with his business, we can't afford to lose another Mopar Specific Vender... I hope the new Glass Doors fit well/perfect for Charlie S.'s buddy "Steve" & Charlie S. goes & posts that, the doors were received by "Steve" & problem has been resolved, especially on all the sites/forums, he was trashing Sled City on & Glassman/Sled City should posts his explanations also, that would be the proper/right thing to do for both parties concerned.... my $0.02 cent, I'm done carry on men...LOL...

Very cool!! :eek:ccasion14:
