Hey all,

I replaced my 318 with a 440 and bought a replacement pos. batt harness from Classic Industries for the 440. Anyone have a picture of how the cable routes past the exhaust? I know it's close but I want to make sure I am routing it the correct (factory) way.

Thanks in advance...

Looks like a 66. And the starter relay is upside down.
Factory had a clamp on the fender apron for holding the wires

Well spotted... it is a 66 but 440's didn't come to the Charger line till 67 so I didn't want folks saying "66's didn't have 440". Thanks for the relay tip. I could not remember how it went originally. I have the plastic fender clips for the cabling. What about how the cable drops down around the steering column... does the main lead go under or over the column?

BTW... how could you tell it was a 66? I didn't think there was much difference inside the engine compartment between 66 and 67???

I’d upgrade to a dual master. Even if I still had the stock 318 2bbl.

cable goes under the column , behind the exhaust pipe

Neither one of my 66s have the metal cable routing clips on them, and no sign either ever did ( no holes )

I have the clip mounted but the previous owner sold my Charger to me without putting the cable through the clip and folding it over to secure the wire.

One very scary (minor) fire and one alternator later, here I am. (Don't know how it took out the alternator and not the regulator too, but oh well.)

Always have a fire extinguisher in your trunk!

Just checked one of my 66 500's, and they come with one

But yours are hemi cars?

But yours are hemi cars?
Only the black one is. the other is 383 , no metal clips/brackets

The 67 Coronet I just sold also had none of the metal clips/brackets on it either. And the under hood on it was original paint

UPDATE, I was in the garage the other day and saw my yellow car has the 2 clips on the inner fender ( not the one on the frame rail. ) My hemi car has non of the clips on it.

My HP2 has one for the battery cable. I'm currently running a new speedometer cable through the correct hole and noted the lack of a speedo cable clip, but definitely no hole for one.
