Anyone know of a good place to get a restored or new PS box for a 71 roadrunner, I tried all my local parts stores and no luck. this right now is the only thing keeping my car off the road as mine was dumping ps fluid everywhere.
if anyone knows of a good website or has one in great condition somewhere i would love to hear from you. thanks

You should be able to get a reman from any decent auto parts store.

Here is your Cardone part number #276546

If your local parts house can't get that number just go to Rock Auto.com

I have had good luck with parts from them. Your gearbox is $112.89 plus $60 core from Roack auto. Same pump is used weather smallblock or bigblock car.

Hope that helps, Troy

If you are looking to keep your original. Steer and Gear does awesome work. I had mine done there, not that my runner is concourse or anything but they even put the factory inspection marks on it. Had them upgrade to the firm feel while I was at it at no additional cost.

Thanks so much should help a lot! All of my local part stores say they got them and when they go to order it from there distributors they don't carry them

but that sounds good ill try there and hopefully get it back on the road after almost 1 month of trying to find this thing

Steer & Gear

Call them and order, keep your old one in case you need fittings and then send the old one to them for core credit. That's how I did mine. Put new hoses on too while you're doing it. You will have a choice of firm or soft feel.

yes go with a quality reman place most of them are junk(auto parts stores barnd) and leak right out of the box , they dont used good seals .

Due to lack of funds, I went cheap and ordered an A1 Cardone power steering gearbox for my 1971 Charger PN 27-6581 from Summit Racing. It was on backorder for over 2 months really holding up my build. A1 Cardone - Summit Racing finally cancelled the backorder detailing "not available" but never notified me. Don't waste your time like I did....go with Steer & Gear or Firm Feel. I guess you get what you pay for; in this case- nothing. Bummer.
