It won't be too long now,my friend is helping me get the garage ready,to do the engine swap.

I was able to put the pilot bearing on a drill press using two tapered bushings and a threaded rod and I used Emory cloth to take a couple thousandths off it. It's just under. 90 and the crankshaft is. 885. I should be able to tap it right into the hole with a socket and be good to go.

Today I started getting the garage ready for the engine swap on the V code Charger R/T. I moved out the U code Charger R/T and stashed it in my car trailer to get the work bay ready to go. I hope to start the engine swap next weekend. All that debris on the garage floor under the U code Charger was sand from the California desert, that was inside the rear quarters. I had already cleaned up a 5 gallon bucket of it,that was residual sand I used the air gun to remove from the wheel houses, trunk extensions, and rocker panels, all of which are rust free. The right rear quarter was side swiped,so I removed it to put a straight quarter panel on the car, when I did,it was full of desert sand,so I removed the left quarter panel that was also full of sand. I used those cut off rear quarters to make my Charger desk. I put two of the Classic Body Designs rear quarters on the U code Charger R/T.

Let get the smoke Rollin in rhode island:thumbsup:

No doubt Steve, shits about to get real about getting the car put together. Tonight I got out there and put some plywood down and very difficultly moved a 440 engine on a stand with another 440 engine block on the bottom of the stand over rough terrain by myself! I am feeling very pumped up! I pick up 440s and put them down!

then,I moved the engine hoist into the work area, then I moved the car over the scissor lift onto the next bay with the floor cleared to be able to use the engine hoist and pull the matching numbers engine out and install the new temporary engine in the car to make it run and drive.

Then,I setup a table and laid out all the fuel tank system parts. I have to go under the car and grind some welds from when I replaced the center section of the trunk floor pan and undercoat it. Once it is dry I can get the fuel tank system installed in the car. While I am under the car I need to tighten up all the bolts on the new leaf springs, shakles, and u bolts I put in the car when I swapped in the Dana 60 rear axle!
