Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has any kind of exploded view (like you get in the manuals) of the park mechanism on a 63-ish push-button 727?

We've just had our driveline vibration fixed :hello2: but while the car was in the 'shop they also (tried to) fix a leaking park mechanism gasket for us. When we went to collect the car they said that they'd done the gasket but noticed that the (or one of the) springs inside had lost some of its 'spring' so I think they tried to fix that too.

Trouble is, now, Park doesn't always hold the car, especially on any kind of gradient, it jumps forward with a knock / clang as if something’s jumping a tooth.

So we could do with possibly changing that spring and whatever else may be past its best after 50+ years!

Anyone else done any work in this area, or have any kind of instructions on what to look at?

Thanks in advance :icon_thumleft:

Thanks, yes, that could be the problem, or part of it. Park worked ok before they played with the spring, so I'd have thought it more spring-related so it would be good to find a replacement. I might drop Pat Blais a line to ask.... Cheers

sounds like the park cable just needs to be readjusted, it's not letting the pawl go deep enough into the governor teeth.
