I have a 62 push button trans that I put a 65 slip joint output shaft and tail shaft on.
Also changed to 1971-78 24 spline input shaft an and front clutch whole assembly.
Had front pump out for soom part changes,
Finally have car running, but slips going from 2-3 after it get there no slipping.
Bought a kit and rebuilt my self as I had done in the past. I was told that I may have scuffed the seal rings on the support or input shaft. Are there just 2 different size seal rings 62-65, 65 and up?
Need help

did you use the 62 pump or the one that matches the input shaft and clutch you added?

Forgive my ignorance but I believe the 62's had 2 pumps. There was a recent post similar to yours and it ended up being that a single hole filter was installed instead of the 2 hole effectively depriving the rear pump of fluid.

Got to looking around And I didn't use the clutch that went with the other parts.
Didn't think that it would work with the wrong clutch?

With the wrong filter I won't shift to 2nd, no it has a 2 hole filter extension, filter and separator plate.
Thanks for the advice
