1981 or 1982? Please give us the back story!
Mt St Helen's. Don't know the story of this photo or the year taken. But it looks cool!

It was just the 45 year eruption anniversary in May and the old photos and stories were circulating. I saw that photo and posted it, as it looks like no other place on earth right now. Elevation was 9677 before blast, and 8363 after. That's getting to where it won't have year round snow or glaciers on it. Also not sure of vegetation that high.

Get some color man!! Next thing you'll see a tag hanging from a toe

What did you promise her if she cut the lawn????? :p

I spent 3/4 of the day yesterday (Father's Day) doing yard work at the office and at home, took her out to dinner, then drove up to NH last evening. This afternoon, Submit told me to relax and she'd cut the grass. To show that I'm a good guy, I did do the weed whacking prior to putting her to work.

This was mine during 9 weeks of ordered elevation beginning on February 8th.

Here it is at the end of April. A lot of better but still a lot of swelling.

In all fairness, I have trained my wife to mow the lawns...... I still do the weed-whacking. She's not silly......that's a dirty job. My new electric Stihl mower makes for easy lawn care. No more pulling like crazy on a rope for a 2-stroke that doesn't want to fire. :)

You have two stroke mowers where you are?

Yes.... I have had this Victor Bronco for about 27 years now.
Stopped using it last year when the pull cord broke, and when I carefully dis-assembled the top, the recoil spring took off like a scalded cat across the lawn.
Up until then it was a great mower..... aluminum body, so no rust, and apart from regular spark plug changes, it ran well. My late FIL used to be jealous of me....he had been through about five mowers in the same time frame. Mind you....he cut his grass three times a week....while I was more of a monthly guy in winter, and bi-weekly in summer.
He was so proud of his weed-free lawn that MIL cut a square of turf from the lawn and placed it on his coffin. Mucho laughter at the service about that.
