We are restoring a 72 Roadrunner, after taking off ALL the paint the quarter panels have had way too much patch work done to them so we have decided to replace them. Does anyone know if there are "how to" video's out there that will help guide us in cutting the old ones off and then getting the new ones on properly. We are new at this but are up for the challenge. We completely rebuilt the engine and have gutted the interior. Thanks for the help!!!

I'm not trying to rain on your parade or put down your skills, but unless you've done a fair share of body work in the past, full-quarter panel replacement is not a great place to start. A full quarter is very easy to screw up and have the job come out looking so bad, you'll hate yourself every time you look at the car.

There are plenty of books and videos out there, but it's hard to be able to properly replace a quarter panel from just simple instruction.

May sound weird, but a local community college might offer a basic welding/bodywork class which would be a great help with getting some hands-on experience.

Just me $.02

Yeah, I have to second the prior post. Being in the business for years, I've seen some (so-called) bodymen leave alot to be desired on their work. You don't get metal-working skills reading a book, or watching a video. Maybe, if you want to do all preliminary work, & just get a pro to hang them, may be a consideration. This is something you really shouldn't cheap out, along with paint.

At least they MAKE full quarters for your car...
