Question for you body guys or tech ones. I have a 65 Plymouth that I’m converting to a 2 door from a 4 door. I have quarters off of a doner car and sitting here thinking of how much I want to cut off each. Use the whole 1/4 or patch in what It will take. I have the skills and platform to do either. I’m thinking about welding the joints and how hard that is sometimes to get level and straight. I made a line where if I cut and splice (least amount) opinions would be appreciated if you’ve done this. Thanks in advance

Do you plan on using the complete quarters on your conversion? Are the 2 door door jams still with the quarters, which you will need. Do you have the donor 2dr roof assembly, which you will need. Will also need the 2dr a pillars,
as I think the 4dr pillars are at a different angle, if the 4dr is a sedan. When doing this operation, make sure you have the doors an
the trunklid you will be using, very important.
It is also highly recommended that the front door hinges are either very good used condition, or send away them away to Mopar Leo, for rebuilding. I'll probably think of something else later.
 
I also remember that Qkbpbp had some real nice 65 doors for sale..... but we're for a Dodge model. The door shells may be the same as a 65 Plymouth, but I am not totally sure.

I have 2 sedans for the posts that I’ll cut out. The guy I got the 1/4s from cut the top part to make his hardtop into a sedan (63) reason I got the 1/4s cheap (free). Also have doors-windows-track, cranks. My 2 64 stuff is rusted bad or I’da used them, would’ve had to piece and patch a lot. All the 4 door parts will be removed drilling the spot welds.

I bought doors at Carlisle about 20 years ago, didn’t need them just nice rust free doors. Would like to keep the chrome trim around door frames but not sure I can find the 2 door Belvedere II pieces

with how the sedan quarters look ,It looks like your missing the quarter window post area.
 
it's easy to do the conversion. The pinch welds, bends,screw holes will match up . It's just a mater of first hanging the 2dr sedan door first to have the door gaps / seals fit right. You need to be able to latch the door to the quarter jam with the 1/4 window post in the roof line ...all kind of loose test fit.

Yes, the guy I got them from cut the post part out to make his 63 hardtop into a post car. I can either cut the complete post part out of one of two post cars I have (has rust holes) or take the top of post and piece it back in. Still debating on that.
 
Keep in mind the steel channel that holds the top 1/4 window to the roof line , sets the window door post location.

Yes I’ll use that as a guide. Might have to use the 64 post part since the 63 has a different stricker attachment for latch. The 64 piece has a couple rust outs so it’ll have to be patched, no biggy. I’ll make patterns of door opening before any cutting (jam to jam) with a lot of test fitting. Yours looks good so far. Not sure I want to do that much panel welding, the least the better for me.
