I am considering finally starting on my 68 Charger I have had sitting. It will need skins or quarters. It has the typical window corner rust and lower quarter rust along with a crack by the door jams. I am told the crack is common. Would I be better off using skins and maintaining the rear window spacing from the factory? More welds and a patch in the corner, but I don’t want to find out a window won’t fit later.

Planning on starting with rear crossmember, trunk, dropoffs, valence, Wheelhouses, tail panel, etc and working forward.

Any pointers appreciated. I want to do it right if I’m going to do it.

I put skins on a 69 Charger a few years ago and said at that time never again. The whole quarter is the way to go imo, especially with the issues you have at the rear window and the crack at the door jamb area.

Go with full quarter panels, do it once and be done. If you go with the skins you will have a weld seam to blend down both sides of the car, and they will be prone to cracking after the car is painted, especially if you have an engine that will twist the body.
