I'd be trying to come up with a plan to clean up the gunk in the valley.
If it were my project I'd spend some time manually cleaning up the build up.
You might want to consider pulling the oil gallery plugs and running a gun cleaning rod through them.

It's actually a "Sport" model with a factory ordered 'H' driveline.

The pistons being 0.060" in the hole is a big problem for good quench.

With pistons .060 in the hole there will NEVER be any "quench"!
Freshen the heads, new rings, and .090-.125 head gaskets.
