Can someone tell me if this is for a 67 charger? It was with my car (not installed) and I was trying to sell it but then I saw another thread that confused me a little. Specifically because of the white wire. Want to be certain of what it is. Thanks!

The white wire is right.
The knobs aren't charger though

Oh ok, I’ll have to see if I can find what they’re from. With the white wire- it’s EL correct? Was that 67 only for EL lighting with the radio?

Think a 233 model would be correct for a 66 Charger. I' not sure that there was EL lighting in a 67 model. Either way, the knobs are not correct for either model year.

Ok so right radio, wrong knobs. The white wire is indicative of EL lighting though, correct? It’s not just a 12v light wire

Yes. The white is EL lighting (66 only?)

66 Chargers used the 233 unit with EL lighting. The 67 Charger used a model 381 with EL, and an AM/FM model 370, but the 370 was not EL.

If you look at the 1967 Mopar Accessories Catalog for the Charger radios, the 233, 281, and 370 are all listed.

Yup. That's them. Thanks for the link. So far they have not drawn blood or poked an eye. Dang...now I've done it.

I just don't get why these knobs were a considered a safety hazard. A poke in the eye ? Really ? No one's ever been injured by a radio knob.

That was a MR Ralph Nader thing. There was never a Chrysler recall on the 67 steering wheel, contrary to some people’s comments.

Yeah, same also with the original dash. The gauge centers were redesigned.
