What a coincidence!! I was at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Hamilton, Ontario today with a friend who had never been there before. We were actually there to attend an annual race car show that the museum hosts. After viewing the cars and chatting with old friends there, my friend said he would like to see the airplanes too. This museum has one of the only two Lancaster bombers flying in the world, and it was in this hangar. My friend was impressed with the size of this bird. The engine cowlings were all open, allowing us to view the four V12 Merlin engines. In front of the Lancaster was a diorama of the Dam Buster mission on a dam on the Rohr Valley. One of the museum volunteer guides took the time to explain the mission in great detail to us. I didn't have the heart to tell him I already saw the movie! LOL
