Mount Kali, in Germany near the town of Heringen, is man made and composed entirely of table salt. This is a by product of the potash mine, and is currently 250 metres high (820 feet) and has 900 tonnes added to it every hour. Understandably, the ground water and nearby river now contain measurable amounts of salt.
