This picture is of a 1880's needle point welcome sign that belonged to Theresa's family. I took it apart years ago to restore it. It's hung by the entry hall of every house we have owned.

We have light drizzle and fog today in Copenhagen, Ontario, on northern shore of Lake Erie. No measurable snow yet. We managed to get our bananas all picked a couple of days ago, when it was sunny. LOL
Looks beautiful, now starts a different type of yard work.

That cannon has been firing since 1898, it was so ships and people in the city could set their clocks. If the wind was right, I could hear the 9 o'clock boom from my house, quite a few miles away.
The cannon aims out over the water. One time back in 1964, someone put some rocks in the gun and when it fired, it hit a floating Texaco gas station out in the bay.
It's been in the above enclosure polywideblock showed since it was stolen (university students) and recovered back in 1969.

Out of curiosity, what's directly across the lake from you? I'm from North East, PA......We can see reflections off of metal buildings across the lake on clear sunny days from the Lake View Golf Course which sits uphill behind the town.

Across the lake from North East, Pa. is the town of Nanticoke, On. There is a huge coal-fired electricity plant there. It has been decommissioned, to save the planet, but I think the buildings are still there. There is also a big steel plant there. Right on the lake where Road 55 is shown. Ashtabula is kind of across the lake from me.
