We did that for years. If Jed Clampett would have shot a round off back there, he'd a thought he hit Texas tea!!
I know. Back then I hadn't even considered that it was a factory color.I was surprised when I saw that picture on facebook, because you don't see many of those light blue cars around. I do get a lot of positive comments from women at car shows though.
Dual headlights means 58, single headlights mean 57 I believe. But it looks like you can read the "C U R" on the hood, part of Mercury. And it looks like a 1957 Mercury Montclair, by those headlamps-

while the Canadian version of the same year looked different.

Funny story ; my Father let my girlfriend drive around a 66 baby blue to sell the car. There were guys working on our apartment at the time. One guy says to her, I know who will buy that car! She had to inform him that " the guy" already owns the car![]()

I might even still have that magazine.
That 73 hood emblem actually fit the curve of the 67 hood.I know. Back then I hadn't even considered that it was a factory color.
This one we had was previously gussied up like a 73 SE, it had the hood emblem, power antenna, actual white leather seats stitched as original and I forget what else. Someone really went to town on it
1971 I happened to meet one of my old classmates Joan she had that blue 66 Charger 318 poly, her twin Faye had a dark green 67 289 Mustang notch back. Their father bought them after they finished their further education.I was surprised when I saw that picture on facebook, because you don't see many of those light blue cars around. Yeah, I screwed up on this one. It actually is a Mercury, after all. I thought the letters on the hood were possibly "CH", as in Monarch. Also thought "Montclair" sounded too "Frenchy" to be a U.S. series. The dual headlights could be '57 or '58, depending on where they were sold. Some states still did not allow dual headlights in 1957, but this was cleared up by 1958. I have seen some 1957 Chryslers and DeSotos the same way. Some have single headlights, while others have duals. Further research turned up that Ford of Canada did not actually produce any 1958 Monarchs. That spot on the sales ladder was replaced by the new, hyped Edsel. Once it was realized that the Edsel was going to be a huge flop, the Monarch was re-introduced for 1959 and 1960. I am sorry for the misinformation.Note that this is not a Mercury. It is, in fact, a Canadian - built Monarch Montclair, by front fender script. These were sold at Ford dealerships. At the same time, Ford-based Meteors were also built here, that were sold at Mercury dealers.
