The Citrus Tower in Clermont, Florida was built to show off the views of surrounding citrus groves.

I was in that in 1976.
Age 8.
In the lobby was a machine that would pour and mold a wax figurine of your choice for a quarter.
I got a dolphin.

Yes. lots of groves.
Don't remember a smell.
Clermont was basically nothing back then.
Today it is a suburb of Orlando.

Mom and I were visiting her sister and family in '76.
They lived in the middle of an orange grove in Lake Wales.
At least 5 miles to anything.
(About a 30-45 minute drive to Clermont)

They told us we could use "that car" in the front yard...
...which was a 1970 442.
...but it wouldn't start when we tried.
