I ran that transmission in my Peterbilt. It went 900,000 miles before the first rebuild, all it needed was bearings and new hydraulic servos. Did the second one 750,000 miles later, same parts, plus had to replace one gear. Cost about $2000 each time. I've heard the newer automated versions cost at least seven times that for a full rebuild, and aren't as durable. That transmission's ability to split the lower gears came in handy when I had to start out at the bottom of a steep hill at a shipper in the Pittsburgh area, and I had 22 tons in the bulk tanker.
