Rarest Gremlin heads to auction

I consider amc in the mopar family ! Every family has the ugly duckling! I like amx's
I had a javelin years ago with the 304 and my god was it a quick little thing! I was not expecting what it gave I re black topped our street with it ! Cleared the bugs too!

Do AMC people want to be classified as Mopar people? Maybe they feel like they were sold out. Maybe the two factions are cousins by marriage.

If it can do a wheel stand, it gets a thumbs up

I would have painted it Big Bad Orange

So, if you own this car, and it has a myriad of problems, do you say, "My Gremlin has gremlins" ? {rimshot}

Does this make all Fiats mopars now?
Chrysler didn't buy Fiat. So, ...no. :)
But like it earlier bought Dodge, Chrysler bought AMC. And incorporated much of it into modern Chrysler lines. Besides Jeep, the Eagle Premiere morphed into the Chrysler LH platforms, then the current LX vehicles.

Even before Chrysler bought them out, I liked AMC. Calling them a Mopar won't hurt my feelings.

My brother still has his 1973 gremlin, but it has a chevy 327 in her now...But hey any car company that has a levi edition is alright by me..**** i own a cartoon car...

It does seem funny to see the Gremlins, Javelins, jeeps etc. at Chryslers at Carlisle. Adopted in to the family, married in to the family, whatever. But NOT BLOOD. Go back far enough and you see Chrysler adopted Dodge in kind of a way.

And Daimler bought Chrysler like a pimp takes on a hooker. And just like a hooker that's old and worthless, Daimler dumped Chrysler.

Wasn't it in 87 that ChryCo bought AMC? Heck, the 4.0 engine in the Jeep was very popular and ChryCo decided to keep it even though other AMC engines were pretty good and for example, the 304 over lapped the 318 so it got dropped.....

In 87 Chrysler bought Lamborghini. My tour of the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

Friend in the 80's had a purple Gremlin X 258 3 speed.

Moved pretty good.

I think it was (is) a Randall Motors special
Randall Motors was a HUGE AMC Performance center in Mesa AZ

Yes, ravaged Chrysler for the technology, that's where all of that new AMG stuff came from back then.

I sure do LOVE (Liked) those AMC Eagles....
remember them?
mid 80s?
4-wheel drive with the in-line 6 cylinder?
I see them occasionally, low mileage ones with a asking price of @$8K

Looking at the magazine pictures, that doesn't look like a 74. They changed the front, and rear.
And if it's so rare, why all the aftermarket parts? I smell something, and it's not a nice smell.

Why all the excitement, can't anyone just buy a Gremlin and bolt in the 401?
Yes, but, THIS gremlin was built by the same dealer/family that built the ones in the 1970's. They intended to build a run of them but stopped at one, making this on the only one with a documented VIN AND built by the Rendell's. So, it's a 1 of 1 car. Like a 1 of 1 Yenko, or whatever other Dodge Dealer that made special versions of MOPAR's. As the article said, the Randell built Gremlins are AMC Holy Grail cars...the original 21 cars were not documented, so are "in the wind" somewhere on Earth...this is, in effect, the #22 car.
