Anyone have the same experience with the clutch pedal on the A833 4 speed being hard to push ? I asked Sam at Rochester Clutch who rebuilt the clutch if this is normal and he told me that the clutch should not be that hard to push.
Any ideas for anyone or is this normal ?

Every 4 speed I tried felt differently. I always assumed it to be the type of clutch they are using. I didn't like mine so I swapped the stock clutch with a Centerforce Dual Friction. It lightened up the pedal feel about 30%.

Hard to push is pretty subjective. Mine has an over the counter clutch from the auto store because Keisler sent me the wrong one. It feels good to me. Not hard to push. But, not as easy as the mickey mouse clutch in the new Challenger that seems to fall to the floor. My mechanic drove my Coronet and said he thinks the clutch is heavy. Subjective. As long as it doesn't bind I'd drive it and get used to it.

Z bar bushing in good shape and no linkage binding? Did Sam at Rochester Clutch rebuild the pressure plate or just replace the clutch? Did it push hard before? Factory pressure plate spring pressure is adjustable. The higher the pressure the harder the pedal is to push in not enough pressure and the disk will not last.

How hard are we talking ,like brake pedal hard? Or just a bit stiffer ,still will go down with a bit more force ,you may have a problem or you just don't like the couch that's all there all diff , I have a zoom setup I've never used them before but I'll give it a shot I'll like it or not then I'll be looking for another.
Good luck

What clutch plate are you using?
Has your over center spring been removed?
Bent or broken fork pivot?
Fork not engaged on the pivot correctly?

My fork broke one time after about 40 plus years. It gave little warning, then complete failure. Did not know what it was till we went in there. I think that this is generational. The new clutch cars are so easy, it can feel like no resistance at all. Some do not remember what normal clutch pressure is. We need to hear from the OP.

Got a picture of the clutch pedal bracket? Like Daves69 mentions, is the over-center / helper spring installed? When I put mine in it was like going to power brakes, made all the difference.

Finally figured out what was wrong!!!!!! Thanks and Kudos to Brewers Performance Wayne for helping. The original owner installed the wrong Z bar and fork rod. Another reminder is to never assume it is right when you buy a vehicle. However, I am beginning to think the original owner was retarded or just plain stupid. I have fixed so many ridiculously stupid screw ups.
