Has anyone rebuilt their Z bar? I bought the kit; but what is the trick in getting the rubber seal over the ball stud ? I've tried vaseline, oil and dishwater soap to get that seal on. That is one small hole.

Yes, I have done this. they can be tough. I used a socket that just fits over the ball, and a bit of grease. work it on there. put the stud/ball in the vise (put 2 old nuts on the threads) clamp it tight!

I tried that Hemi RTs; I guess mine are overly tight. I took a drill bit and shaved a little off the rubber and was able to use your method to get it on. Boy oh Boy those are tough!!!!

Heating it up in a pan of hot water will soften it up and make it easier to force on. Vaseline the ball stud.
