Hello

Been looking for rear sway bar bushings to no avail. So now considering a whole new bar. I am looking for one close to what was stock. Would like to get one that installs with no modifications. Would like your recomendations.

Thank you.

Call Dick at Firm Feel, I used a solution they have for sway bar bushings on my 73 RR, I had to shim the ones on the bar, but they work great!

Bushings should be easily found, I have a stock .rear bar I would send you for the shipping price, but it sounds like you have a stock bar. I replaced some with rubber bushings from NAPA as it was just a daily driver.

Hey 73runner, do you have a part number for those bushings? I couldn't repair mine as the posts were almost completely rusted through, but I hung on to them in case I get around to repairing the posts.

I'll see if I can look them up for you but the bushings are pretty common front sway bar bushings for both the bar and the rods.

Used the ones that were available for the fronts and cut the bar bushings down a bit to fit as I recall.

The problem I had was the bushings on the rods (my right side broke but I was able to cut and weld some treaded rod to it to repair it) and the bushings on the sway bar itself. Also, the way the bar bushings mount to the holder at the end of the rod were never meant to be changed withou replacing the rods.... So I ended up pushing the cut down one in with a couple of c clamps, grease and cussing into the holders at the end of the link rods.

I'll shoot you some pictures tomorrow of the repaired link rods and bar bushings... If they're still there!

Here is a photo of the repaired rod with bushing.

Not as clean as the underside of yours that looks great btw.

Ok, yeah, I was thinking that the rears specifically were still not available anywhere, and why I went to the kit from FirmFeel, as my rears had the same problem, rusted out around the threads where the bushing goes into the sway bar plate.
