I am looking at purchasing a rebuilt power steering box for my 1969 Satellite, and the auto parts stores around here sell various "brands" (I know there are great companies that I can send my existing box to, and the risk of using a retail chain). The question I have is that some of the boxes do not include a pitman arm and some do. I believe my car uses the smaller output shaft (1-1/8") vs the later models that used the 1-1/4" ones (correct?). The gear boxes that do not include a pitman arm state that I reuse my own and that they are the 1-1/8" size. The ones with a pitman already installed state they are 1-1/4" output shaft size. I am Ok with that since it has the pitman included, but my question is whether the geometry is the same? It would be nice getting a new pitman with a new boot, etc., for essentially the same money (plus I don't have to worry about pulling the old one). But, that is no good if the geometry is not correct. I would assume they have done their homework, and it would fit fine, but I wanted to check if anyone has experience here.
