I thought I would post this for my fellow shooters who have weapons with Trijicon night sites. As we all know, these use tubes filled with radioactive Tritium gas for illumination, and this gas loses it's illumination over time. I have a Beretta 96 with sites installed in 1997 that have now gone totally dark, so I contacted Trijicon to see about getting them recharged/replaced.
I contacted Trijicon, and they sent me to their website where you can request a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number. They send you that via email the next day, and you use that to send the slide from your pistol to Trijicon in Michigan. They inspect the sights and make sure there are no warranty concerns. Their warranty is 12 years for green sights, which most of us have, and its pro-rated so the older the sights, the less they pay. My sights are well over 12 years old, so the cost to recharge them is $58, which includes the service and return shipping.
You send them your slide, and it takes two to three weeks to get it back with bright, new, sights that carry a new 12-year warranty.
