Red 1966 Charger has a new home!

Hey folks! We purchased the Charger several months from my mother in law, it was her late husbands P&J since 1988. She held on to it for many years before deciding to let us buy it. It was bit work getting it running and stopping well enough to be driven on to the carrier, but we did and it made the trip just fine from Salt Lake City, UT to Tullahoma, TN.

I'll fill in some of the missing info a bit later.. started this post past my bedtime and having trouble keeping my eyes open!

Hey everybody! Thanks for the warm welcome! Yeah, she looks great from a distance, but she has had some shoddy body work done to her... I chose the correct angle and light to make her look really good (forgot to turn off the wipers!).
My father in law bought the Charger in 1988 from a car dealer in Twin Falls, ID. After she arrived home I called the dealer, he remembered the car, but had purged all records just a couple years ago... The charger was born with a 318 2 bbl, the current mill is a 383 that was rebuilt approx 10 years ago. I do not have the build specs, just info from my mother in law... and a yellow 383 engine/trans.
When we arrived in SLC we discovered the Charger had not been driven for a (very) long time. We had 5 days to get the Charger running and braking well enough to load onto the carrier. Needless to say, we had to extend our trip to complete the task. We managed to source enough parts and get them installed well to be loaded onto the carrier, which showed up the day after we left.

We are planning to replace the fuel tank, fuel lines, radiator, heater core and several other bits over the winter months.. then take a few rides. I'm hoping next year we can swing all the body work, suspension and bodywork she deserves.

It would have been really cool to drive it home, but I didn't get it running that well and we didn't have that much time! It had to be trucked home.. One day, we will take her on a Coast to Coast road trip!

Hey onlyone, that picture was taken in our driveway (Tullahoma, TN) right after I drove it home from the drop off site.. approx 3-4 miles from home. If I remember correctly, it was late October. I was going to breakout my real camera the next day for a few more shots, but the weather didn't cooperate and most of the leaves were on the ground within a couple weeks.
