Registry for u code 1973 1974 440 chargers

Has 48K miles on it. Still needs some restoration though. Runs good but motor & trans have never had any work done. 1 exterior repaint is about it. Dash pad cracked. White interior yellowed, needs headliner and AC doesn't work but appears to be all there and will need modernized. That's why I'm thinking more in the line of $17K or so.

I'm still looking at the U code 73 Charger that I began the thread with. In talking with the owner and better researching what he has( he's about 5 hours away and don't want to make another empty trailer haul back and forth to a prospect), the transmission is matching but the motor has a blank boss in the VIN location. Top pad is stamped 440 2 23 and I think HP below that. No J in front of the 440. Can't read the block date very well. It is the correct part number casting for a 73-78 but to date the owner is still trying to get a good read on that block year date. What are opinions on the car now, price wise? This car is totally rust free with nice paint. Something to keep in mind. Very late build as well 919 SPD on the original broadcast sheet and fender tag. Thanks !!

Tim I think that car is worth the 22k in this market even if non numbers matching if solid, complete, running driving, and presentable. I am seeing the good U-codes priced in the upper 20s to low 30s right now. IDK if they are selling for that though. I am just glad I got mine when I did.

Yes. There is a nice blue 72 Rallye car I saw posted on Moparts the other day that is sweet. $28K on that I think with a 400. Kind of wonder how that will fair in the market. I just like the 71-74 B Bodies too anyhow. I've had quite a few but 318 & 400 cars.

A person could show this 73 I'm looking at & magnet sticks everywhere as well. Its not perfect but very presentable. No flaws in the exterior that's for sure.
