Good evening everyone,
Need to get a new ignition coil for my Superbird.
I was wondering if anyone has purchased the reproduction ignition coil that is date coded ?
I prefer not to get Chinese junk if possible
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

I used the heat transfer decal available from ECS on an older made in USA coil and had a good result. Have also used a date coded repro coil sucessfully.

same here

My car has an NOS mopar coil on it, but from wrong time period
So blasted and painted it. used the ecs transfer with no complaints

Thank you for the feedback. I tried to use the dry transfer from ECS and had no luck. Maybe I just did something wrong

I blasted and repainted an Accel Super Stock then used the ECS transfer. Looks like an oem coil and runs perfect.

Any specific way to apply it?
I followed their instructions which was briefly warming the decal sheet with a hair dryer for a few seconds, position the sheet where needed then securing it with tape on both ends. They provide a rounded wood popsicle stick to rub the lettering until it transfers then slowly peel the sheet while ensuring all lettering adhered to the surface.

Well, crap. I went on the ECS website and they don't show a decal for a 1966 coil. What are they supposed to look like?

I took a different approach. I drove the car, and while the coil was still hot, I applied the decal, while wearing a rubber glove.

Their decals are date code specific and they dont make one for 66 dates

Just buy one as they are all the same print, just different dates ,,,,and not use the date is what I did

Have to watch the colors, have them in the shop. 66 might be yellow. DO NOT BUY the date coded coils getting alot of people telling me they are failing.
Definitely four colors, yellow, green, blue and white depending on the year. Also 70 and up say ECU/DIST 69 down just DIST
