Reproduction Grilles 70 RR

Did not even think of taking pics. I inspected, wrapped it back up and stashed it away next to all the other RR stuff patiently waiting for a body...

Did you paint those bolts yet?? :poke:
No , just got done doing a spray bomb on my k frame. Hoping to install next weekend. Thanks again for the paint Jeff, I really appreciate it.

Many years back when I restored my 70RR, my plastic center grille had a couple of broken bars, so I started to learn how to re-install/repair the bars. I got pretty at it and I started buying the grille cores on-line and @swap meets, repairing/restoring them and selling at various Mopar shows. They looked very good and I would repaint these back to Mopar factory specs/colors, I actually sold a couple for some decent $$ and received some great compliments about their final quality. The biggest issue I found with center section grilles was when installing, many guys would over tighten the outside mounting screws and frequently the mounting brackets would split or even break off. The key point here is to just lightly torque down the mounting screws as this tends to minimize pressure on the brackets. Regarding the aftermarket repros, I can't comment as I have no experience but I do recall originally they were selling for $1K and then were decreased to $500..

Just my $0.02...
