Restoring Original Gas Tank

We are restoring an original 70 Hemi Roadrunner in our shop and the customer was asking about having his original gas tank restored. It is super clean inside and not badly dented but of course the plating is mostly gone and badly faded. Is there anyone that properly restores these tanks including replating them? This is a very high end restoration using as many nos and restored original parts as possible so a reproduction tank is really not an option.

Just replace it, you can always hang on to the old tank, in case you find an answer. Will you try and save your old fuel and brake lines too?

We have found an nos gas tank. No I will not be using the old fuel lines. This car is going to be going for oe judging so we are trying to make it as correct as possible.

The one I have is a 69 tank Wayne. 70 is different… with E.C.S. or without.
