In my service manual it says that ride height is 1-5/8 inches. Is that measurement the difference between the A and B measurement? Or from the lowest part of control arm to ground. Thanks.

I believe it is the difference between the A and B measurements.

Yup, A and B.....but I put them where I want them based on what I'm doing with the car.....and with how the car will be loaded. My cars are usually loaded with just me behind the wheel and I'm 210 so the driver's side is up a tad higher than the right side of the car. If I'm drag racing a lot, I preload the chassis to help keep the right rear planted on the launch.

Dumb question, I know, but I'm curious how or with what do you preload the chassis and why is the right rear the side that would need to be kept planted? Obviously I have no drag race experience but lots of street tire burning experience. Lol.

The rear end tries to torque counterclockwise and that makes the left rear plant and the right rear tire try to lift (reason for the one wheel peel on non Sure Grip cars) so if you add a leaf or two to the right side, that will help keep the right side planted. You can also crank up the left front torsion bar a bit too or do both. I ran air shocks on several cars over the years and would put 25 psi in the right shock and leave the left one with only 5 psi. They need some air to keep the bags from wearing out so fast. Another thing you can do is throw the battery in the trunk on the right side. Doing stuff like this can also help get rid of the one wheel peel on open rear ends. On one of my cars way back when, adding some air to the rt shock and sticking 50 lbs in the trunk did the trick. I worked construction in the 60's/early 70's and usually had a full box of nails for the weight :D My car back then was my only car and was used for everything I did.

Thanks, If it ever stops raining I'm gonna take it for a quick spin. Still got to get it aligned
