I was fortunate enough to listen to Gary Burbank in Louisville in the 1970s while growing up and then when I moved to Cincinnati in the 1980s. Gary Burbank's radio show was so good he actually showed up on the Louisville radio ratings 100 miles away from his Cincinnati station WLW. Pre Internet days people were buying high performance AM radios to listen to Gary's show in neighboring states.

Longtime, popular radio personality Gary Burbank has died

He also had the hit "Who shot JR?" I'm the early 1980s.

Bill, I grew up listening to him on a.m. radio with my dad. He had a great radio show. Earl Pitts, American. Now Pitts off. He was a funny personality and will be missed.

I read his memoir "Voices in my head" about 15 years ago. What a life he lived. Should be a Hollywood movie.
